Is it just me, or is June 20 taking FOREVER to get here? ALL I WANT TO DO IS READ AND WRITE TEN/INARA. ALL I WANT TO DO. That, and eat peanut butter sandwiches.

Anyway, if you find yourself lacking in sonic-tea-ness, feel free to polish your fic to a fine sheen! goldy-dollar and I hereby declare the Catchall Beta Post. If you'd like to make your services ( Read more... )

So I'm going to be rather unavailable until my finals are over, but starting around May 27 or so I should be able to attack stories with relish. :) In a loving way, of course.

I like to think I'm pretty strong on mechanics, and I'm definitely into characterization and continuity. You can get an idea of what my writing's like at planetbarcelona (for Doctor Who) and my memories (for Firefly). I will probably have some trouble reading anything that's not Doctor/Rose shippy, but I might be able to deal. :P

Just comment back if you'd like me to take a look at your fic, and we'll work something out!

Mind if I use your beta skills in June? I don't want to take up your time now, (and my fic isn't completed yet) but I'd love some feedback eventually.

Totally! Bother me all you like once it's done. (Send it whenever you want, and if it's during finals I'll just get back to you later rather than sooner.)

I will absolutely need a beta for this as it's my first time writing a crossover. I can't write dialougue so I have a tendancy to just skip it, which I want to break out of. Also, I have a bad habit of slipping verb tenses halfway through a story *facepalm*. I think I've got pacing down, but I wouldn't say no to some characterisation tips.

My story so far has a small obtuse hint at D/R and M/I but nothing overtly shippy.

I would love someone to be strict and tear my story apart so I can make it better. Comment here and I'll email you my first draft. Also, more than one beta is just extra awesome sauce on top of a sundae!

You KNOW, I wouldn't mind betaing for you. :D

Email is fsmunn [at] gmail.com. I'm mostly... sitting at home and twiddling my thumbs, bored out of my mind, so I could definitely go for crossover fic whenever it's ready. *G*

*waves shyly* Can I use you later on? I'm about half way through but I am determined not to be last-minute about this! :)

Could I use either of you lovely co-mods as a beta? I've finished my fic after going through a major re-write and I'm not 100% sure the story is working.

I've also got a sonic_tea banner in the works that could potentially replace the banner in the profile and I'll gladly hand that over as a thank you. :-D

I think I'm going to need a beta... nothing very much to do really, my mechanics are usually strong and all, I just want some second opinions on my characterization and story structure.
I won't be available for very thorough beta-ing, but I am happy to lend my editing skills to anyone interested. I'm good with mechanics and dialogue, and I can give some critical feedback to whoever needs it. (But don't wait too long. I work two jobs and go to school, so I need a few days to find a time where I can go through your fic.)

If you still need a beta, you can send your fic off to me, if you'd like. :D

fsmunn [at] gmail.com. Should take me a day or two, depending on how school is going.
