i am not an animal

surveying the rear-end damage to my precious car, and aside from the $3000 estimate in repairs, all i can think of is an analogy the crumpled horror of a car has instilled in me. have you ever seen a person, from all first guesses completely normal as you behold their face... but as the eye scrolls the length of their body, a grotesque club food bulges from the end of a burdened pant leg? that is what the car is like. the front is sleek and perfect; intact as the day she were built. however, you reach the final chapter-- you reach a testament to the cruel twists of fate and flesh that can happen to anyone on this earth.

(in a parking lot a van door angrily opened and she dropped her dirty foot to the ground like an anchor)
