Me [writing, or trying to]: what's a quiet little laugh?
B: a guffaw?
me: quiet and little.
B: a gfw?
me: o.0
B: like a teehee. a chuckle.
me: i guess more like a wistful smile at a memory that prolly won't happen but, wouldn't it have been nice.
B: erinnerungsnichtpassierenlächeln.
its a loan word.
like schadenfreude.
me: i wrote my way around it. thank you though.
B: did you just have it happen, and then could put "smiled as he remembered fondly..."?
me: not quite like that, no.
B: PERSONALLY I think you should say "wistful chortle."
me: yes dear. sh.
B:see this is why you're not a good writer, you have no sense for the turn of a phrase.
Sometimes it's better to ask the internet.
