It was late. I was in my bed at Granny's house. I was still awake. Reading. The latest installment of Cornelia Funke's Inkworld trilogy. Dad comes up the steps to go to bed as well.

Dad: "You're still awake?"
Me: *nods*
Dad: "Must be a good book."
Me: *nods*
Dad: "You gonna read a bit more?"
Me: "Yeah."
Dad: "k. Well I'm going to bed."
Me: "k."
Dad: "Don't forget to turn out the lights. Read as long as you want. Just don't read out loud."
Me: *snorts*
