so apparently today was the day to get nothing done.

Though it certainly wasn't for lack of trying.

I spent most of the morning trying to get connected to the internet and failing. I then tried to fix a yummy breakfast which was marred by my discovery that I'd forgotten to purchase cream cheese last night. And so on my quest to find a suitable replacement, breakfast eventually turned into lunch, which became an afternoon snack.

I wrote one letter. I've still not managed to send out my 1-on-1 application. Because the internet debacle turned into a long chat with my parents, which was mostly spent explaining to my father how he's half-fourth-cousins to a particular cousin of ours, and explaining the "once-removed" phenomenon. (ba-d00 ba-d00d00)

Then, attempting to shower and having that postponed by my body yelling and screaming that it wanted sustenance NOWDAMMIT! So once I got that taken care of, I believe I took two other calls between drying and dressing.

My list of things to do to-day is in shambles at my feet.

I shall rectify that by taking my envelope to the PO post-haste (get it? ha!), salvaging the afternoon with a brown cow at Rancatori's.

Somewhere over Hong Kong today, a butterfly flapped its wings and wreaked havoc on my day.

ETA: Interesting how "nowhere I want to be" got translated by Google Maps to three locations in the Netherlands and three in Belgium. The latter makes at least a little sense. But really. I've been to both nations and they are both lovely. I can think of a number of places on the globe that are more fitting the description "nowhere I want to be."

rutgers 1on1, not writing
