Eugénie wants to hug him forever and ever and never let go and it sucks because she can't not think that she's taking something away from him, that she's taking away the thing that they have most in common, that brought them together, which is Albert. Franz is the only person in Eugénie's world who can truly sympathize with her feelings when it comes to him, and so that connection she has with him is very strong, and tied very deeply in her heart. And she doesn't feel betrayed by either of them, surprisingly enough. She knows what it's like to have conflicting feelings for someone, and like -- she has so much respect for Franz for being able to deal with it better than she does. Because she gets frustrated when it comes to her feelings, and Franz manages to be cool about almost everything and be compassionate when she needs a shoulder to lean on, and that means so, so much to her. God knows she needed that kind of stability during her life growing up in France. And she thinks Franz deserves and has always deserved so much more than he's given, and so actually giving Albert to him is... something she has seriously considered. But she knows Franz wouldn't want that for her, and knows that Albert loves her too (which about made her heart leap out of her chest when he said it) so she's not going to extremes. However, she is so stubborn that she will refuse to let him out of the picture when it comes to her relationship to Albert. Franz you are not stepping back and letting us take it by ourselves, end of story. >( Eugénie loves Franz too much to do anything less.
