Okay, so after months of neglect (again!), I still don't have anything of value to add to this journal other than one major, fan-girly rec.
WATCH TIGER & BUNNY!
I'm serious. This is the best thing since sliced bread. Set in a futuristic world, a genetic mutation has created humans with special powers, known collectively as NEXT. Several of these NEXT with particularly impressive powers have become Heroes, protecting the city of Sternbild while competing for title of "King of Heroes" on the reality show, Hero TV. Also, they are company owned and sponsored. (See how many of the company logos on their costumes you can recognize!)
The title characters are the first "Hero Team" in Sternbild, and they have fantastic dynamics. There is only one episode left in the first season, with no certainty that a second season will be airing, but it's still worth taking a chance on.
This is a show that doesn't take itself too seriously. The business model used by the company (Sunrise) is a bit of an experiment, apparently. For some really neat background (and just a fantastic, informative fansite) check out This Is Sternbild.
Great voice actors, fun characters, and some fantastic opening and ending themes. The entire series can be found at Anime Crazy, along with every other series you could possibly want to watch, with multiple mirror options in case you have a vid.host preference.
