Last night was just one of those nights that made me so excited to be abroad. Although I only had class until 1:45, I wound up staying late in the city for the election night party that Kirstine and I were invited to last week. Because the train system currently sucks, we saw no reason to go home and come back. Instead, we spent the afternoon walking around Stroget in search of a winter hat. (I'm so incredibly cold! Seriously, why is it so difficult to find a friggin' hat in this city?!) Anyways, we did some work at the DIS library, and then went to Illum where I bought... seitan! Yes, my friends, there is seitan in Denmark. My vegetarian tummy will be happy yet again. Next, we went to a place called La Galette, which is a super yummy creperie. I had a buckwheat crepe with cheese, walnuts, and pears...mmmm....Then, we went to Robert's Coffee for cappuccinos. The place was adorable, but the setup was just silly. Basically, you buy your coffee upstairs, and then you have to CARRY IT down like two flights of stairs, which are all uneven so you can't even guestimate how far to step. I almost spilled twice, but I soldiered on. Finally, it was time to head out to our election night party. It was over by Radhusplassen, and the place was packed. The party was for the Social Liberals, who pretty much doubled their mandate, so everyone was all drunk and cheery. Kirstine and I sat at a corner table with some other DIS-ers who had been invited. A few minutes after we got there, the wife of the former Prime Minister came over to explain Danish politics to us. Dude, that's like having Hillary Clinton just come up and start yammering away! We felt very cool. Coming home, all the stars aligned for us transportation-wise. Usually, we get stuck out in the cold forever waiting for trains and busses, but everything came just as we arrived on the platform like clockwork. Oh, also, we bought tons of candy at one of Copenhagen's "better than Sweet Factory" candy stores, and we spent the entire day/night eating it.

Justin's plane arrives in approximately 4 hours. I'm leaving for the city in a few minutes to do vegetarian dinner with some friends, and then it's time to pick up the boy!! I'm so excited!!!!

Haha I just reread this post. I totally sound like a girl whose boyfriend is about to visit, because I'm using all these exclamation points and slang words, and now I feel like a middle-schooler sitting by the phone waiting to be asked out.

More fun stories to come.
