It's Wednesday night. My program is over in exactly 17 days. I have no idea where all the time went. Still to go: 1 film paper on gender and sexuality in Pedro Almodovar's All about my Mother, Talk to Her, and Bad Education. 1 CDD paper about tracking and egalitarianism - a comparison between the US and Denmark. A Danish written final. A Danish oral final. A film final. A Danish politics and society final.
Oy.
My mom came and visited last weekend. It was an incredibly welcome break. I finally got to do all the "touristy" stuff I never got around to doing earlier - the Louisiana Modern Art Museum, the Ny Carlsburg Glyptotek, Tivoli, a canal tour. Plus we ate at some fabulous restaurants. My mom took home an entire suitcase of my stuff, which really cleared up a lot of space in my room..(not to mention how much anxiety it will save me when it's time to pack and travel to Paris!) But yeah, the weekend was quite fun.
I've managed to put off this film paper so much this week. I have been borrowing Jeremy's Friends DVDS like crazy and although they are fun procrastination tools, they are not exactly aiding in my productivity. Other procrastination tools: amazon.com, vegweb, livejournal, facebook, new york times - both the paper and the magazine, and, um back Dear Abby columns.
In fun news, my summer concert lineup is starting to shape up. Sandy and I hit up Emm Gryner at the Cutting Room on June 25th - (my very first official 21 and up show!) and Tori Amos just released a few tri-state area tour dates! Tickets go onsale at 9 AM on Saturday, which means 3 PM here, which means that for ONCE, I don't have to wake up at an ungodly weekend hour to buy tickets! Justin and I are planning on attending the New Jersey show on August 19th, so we can squeeze in our trip to California to visit his family between the show and Mich's 21st birthday on the 11th.
I have officially, mentally checked out. This always happens at the end of a semester - where I feel like I'm just done doing work. Unfortunately, I am not, and being in Denmark makes everything that much harder. I've been griping for weeks about how much work I have and how I have zero times to go exploring in Copenhagen. But then I waste my days in fronnt of the computer...I don't know. I never procrastinate, but this week has just been one delay after another...sigh...
Copenhagen until the 21st, Paris until the 29th, and then I'm home! I can't wait to see everyone!!
