We had our good-bye party for Steve last night. It was small, but it was nice to hang out with people. Steve is going to Boston on the day Chris and I get back from Pennsic, so this wee is likely the last time we see him for a while. He got accepted to graduate school at MIT, in their aerospace program. He gets to be my rocket scientist friend. :)
We made waaay too much food for the party. Veggies and dips, cheese plate, barbecue chicken wings, pasta with vegetables and sausage, fruit salad (which never got opened and, I believe, is still in te fridge), and lots of beer and cider.... Two people ate before they got there, and we were expecting a few more people.... Oh well. Chris' roommate will just have lots of leftovers to eat while we're gone.
I finished a lot of my reports yesterday and handed them in this morning. I really should finish them in a more timely manner, but combine the fact that not all of the attachments make their way to me in a timely manner, and the fact that I'm still unsure of exactly which forms I need to fill out for all the different inspections, and the fact that I'm a little paranoid about handing them in because they become legal documents once I submit them (so they have to be accurate for more reasons than my own perfectionist leanings)... At least the ones for this week are easy; short and no extra attachments or forms. My goal is to be up to date by Friday, so I don't have to worry about them at Pennsic, but I don't think that will be entirely possible.
So, I'll just have to get as many done as I can...
I get to go home tonight (yay! early bedtime...) for last minute packing and to see if I can find my blue card and laminator. If I can't find the blue card, I'll just have to bring my Pikestaff for proof of membership. And, I promised Chris I'd laminate his blue card for him, so I'll need to find the laminator anyway. I'm debating whether of not I want to bring my bodice to Pennsic this year. The last time I wore it was I-Con, I think, and it was a little hard to breathe... I've mostly been wearing early period/loose garb because it's more comfortable, but I look really good in that bodice.... Also must remember to pack part of my vacation jar funds... don't want to forget that!
Still need to look up an HSBC near to Penn Station. Definitely want my paycheck deposited before I leave...
