OK... let's try this again...

Finals (half) week.

For me, is now over. All I have to do is hand in my paper tonight, and I'm done. Wheee! 23 pages of pesticide reduction and alternative agriculture. oog.

Anyway, the previous two days have been really good, aside from the stress.

Soils presentation on Monday rocked! We actually got a compliment from Guido that even though he normaly doesn't like group presentations that switch off back and forth among group members (instead of each person doing one part in order), we did it effectively and hekind of liked it. I may have something to do with the fact that my lab group is all girls, or that we all dressedto match for the presentation, but whatever. I thought we were going to get in trouble for doing it becasue he had mentioned before the presentations that he didn't like that style.

Got my final back from him: 88%, class average 80%. Highest final exam average he's seen in years. We rock! The 88 is technically a B, but combining lab stuff, I got an A for the semester! And that's a big one: 4.5 credits for that class.

Structures final yesterday went OK. I had about 30 seconds of abject panic when he handed out the exam. I skimmed it and for some reason my pulse raced and I thought "Oh my god! I don't know this! How do I start? I know I used to know this..." and more stuff along that line. Then I just started re-drawing the diagrams in my answer book and calmed down and remembered that I did, in fact, remember how to do the stuff. I'm sure this happened because my "studying" for this test involved my quickly reviewing my homeworks and mentally checking off topics, instead of actually doing some sample problems. Ah, well. I was the third person to hand it in, despite my time lost to panic, and I only took the two hours the test was supposed to take. I think I did well, but mentally reviewing it today, I'm coming upwith a couple of stupid mistakes I think I made. Well, it's over, anyway...

Then we went with Yapi to a NYWEA meeting that involved free dinner and an open bar. The drinks were OK,and a good idea after the exam (most of my classmates went to the Alehouse because they are not in Yapi's class). Dinner was amazing. I chose the steak, medium-rare, and it ws beautiful. Ithad to have been 16 oz, and they claimed it was Black Angus, which I'm willing to believe. I have to go backthere sometime just because... or maybe go to another one of those meeting things. Apparently they usually meet there...

Today, I'm at work this morning. It's my last day here, since I'm going to work for someone (anyone!) else this summer. Tomorrow,Chrisand I are headed into New Jersey to pickup the car and go to my mom's for dinner because her birthday is Friday. Then, on Friday, we'regoing to pick up Steve and Dave from Steve's parent's place (also in Jersey) and driveup to Vermont. Max's family owns a condo up there some where and he invited us up for a long weekend. We'll probably be back Tuesday or Wednesday. Not sure what we'll do there, but it should be fun...

OK.

That's it.
