cookies, cookies everywhere...

I'm running out of storage space for all of them. Thank goodness for Gladware.

I brought a selection of the cookies I have done so far to gaming at Stephen's last night. That was 6 different kinds, I think... There were three I didn't bring: the Swiss gingerbread (that has no ginger in it, BTW) hadn't cooled yet, the Brandy Snaps are too delicate so I couldn't figure out how to pack them, and the mini fruit cakes were still a little too damp with the sherry to be re-packaged well. I'll have to repack them for tomorrow, though. The chocolate rum balls went over really well. I guess I'll have to make them again sometime... There is (I think) only one more kind I want to make for Christmas (for Chris' family and mom) and the others I'll hold off for a bit and make them for Dad's family. I think the various meringue based cookies will go over better there.

This has definitely become a learning experience. There are some cookies that I don't think I want to make again, and others that I think I'll have to make every year, and others that I want to modify the instructions and see if they come out better that way...

It's actually been lots of fun (and kind of expensive...) and I now have a kitchen stocked for baking, which is pretty cool in and of itself.

oops, I misspoke before: there are two more kinds of cookies I need to bake tonight...

I'm only a little obsessive, I swear....

family, gaming, holidays, cookies
