So, it's official. A long weekend at Cornell is just up ahead. And the only thing I'm looking forward to is the drive up with Dad... And only part of that. The first part, involving loading the vane with four heavy boxes of dirt will most likely be less than thrilling.
But, I'll bring a novel and my FE study book so I'll have something to do during down time, of which, once the experiment gets going, there will be a lot.
I've had this feeling for the past week and a half or so that I'm sick, but have been ignoring it. It's a bad habit of mine. I also got an email today that
ioldanach (person I spent Tuesday evening with) has come down with the flu. This is exciting. Although, if one does have to come down with the flu, Spring Break when you're not going anywhere is a good time...
I'm also thinking about a day trip to Philadelphia or DC sometime after I come back from Cornell. Just to say I did something fun for Spring Break instead of just working the whole time... This is assuming I don't actually get sick. Maybe Boston? I have friends up there... Hey
pykors, what are you doing this week? Aside from nursing a broken foot, I mean...
Interviewed with
Burns & Roe this morning. The interview went really well. I talked to a guy who was hired from Cooper last year, so he has about 9 months with the company. I was the first person he'd ever interviewed, so it was a little weird. I kind of directed the conversation, because he wasn't quite sure what he was doing. I just kind of modeled it off of my other interviews and what those people wanted to know, but I got to add extra things in that sometimes people don't ask me about. My "interviewer" was much more comfortable answering questions than asking them... I could work for them, I guess... We'll see if they call me back for seconds... Getting a little scared, since I've only been on one second interview so far. I have another one in the works with a company that's much more interesting, but that's it. Not too worried yet, since I have a few months, but I'll need to start apartment hunting soon, and if I knew where I was working, I would know where to look for a new apartment...
