New glasses!
Picked them up yesterday. Much stronger prescription than the last one. My eyes are still adjusting to them...
The frames are smaller, so I have a new field of vision to get used to, and I have a larger amount of stuff I can see outside of the frames. Things are bending strangely when I turn my head. I also have to be careful walking down stairs, because I see two edges to each step. I need to move my head more... Slight headache, vaguely seasick.
I also seem to be having strange distance issues... Far away is good; much better than before, nice and crisp. Close up is fine, too. I read my novel on the train with no problems. But reading the computer screen about two feet away is... weird. It's not really blurry, but it's like I don't have a new prescription at that distance. Just slightly out of focus. Every other distance is fine, except for that one. Even the keyboard (slightly closer) is in focus, but when I look at the screen, it's almost better if I don't have the glasses on at all.
I was told to give it until Monday, and if I'm still having problems, I should bring them back. But, if I do that, then I won't have glasses at all until they are fixed... (I donated my old ones to the "Gift of Sight" donation thingy...)
