I made stew again. :)
On Saturday, I got my winter urge to cook meat, vegetables, and liquid in a pot for a long time. It was very tasty. I was home and cleaning on Saturady anyway, so I had time for a slow cooked meal. Stew went in at 12:30 and was finally done at 8:00 or so. I pulled three more bags of trash out of my bedroom in the meantime.

Anyway, so I also called dad and made plans to go out there the next day, after breakfast with Chris' folks. With stew. Traveling was uneventful, except for having to run for the LIRR train at Flatbush Ave so I wouldn't have to wait another hour for the next train. I had to transfer at Jamaica, which gave me enough time to check out the construction work for that weekend. The amount they've finished since I left in September is amazing. The station looks really good. Saw a few people I knew form the summer, but they seemed to be running off to warm up, so we didn't chat long.

Dad an I just kind of wandered around the island a bit. We went to Stew Leonards wine shop and tasted some local wines and bought a few bottles (I forgot the Chardonnay I bought at his apartment yesterday. oh well...). Then Applebees for lunch, then two very large thrift stores. Then back to his place and watched some PBS television and ate my stew. He really liked it, and there weren't any leftovers... Then we (well, mostly me) watched a dog show into the wee hours of the morning and then to bed. So, just kind of a relaxed weekend. Monday we finally managed to get outside around 1:30 or so after blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Then anoter thrift store. Then back to the apartment by way of Chinese take-out so dad could register for evening classes at Suffolk Community College. He's taking two classes this semester, but they con't start for another two weeks.

We put me on a 5:00 train back to NYC so I could get to Stephen's for Monday night gaming.

And now it's Tuesday. First day of classes, but it's a MOnday schedule, so I'm in the computer center. Probably for most of the day. We don't have anyone scheduled unti 3 this afternoon. Of course, I'm still waiting for some people to give me their hours for this semester... We should have a final schedule sometime next week (I hope).

I also has some strange dreams this weekend. I may post about them later, but I want to get something for breakfast now...
