My meeting

The meeting went well... i suppose; i had no idea what to expect! Joe was very nice, and very honest; two things that do not go together often in the Nashville music world, so i hear, anyway. There was one song that he thought would be a good one to pitch, which was very positive for me. He could have very easily said they all sound like crap. He did say that the quality of my demo was crap. Not in those words, but basically, don't play this for anybody else, or they'll throw it in the trash. I recorded these at friends' houses, for free (I paid for some, but they happen to be the worst ones), and they're decent, but pretty rough. He said that for the one song (Time Stands Still) that he likes, he would like to work on a good-quality demo of it and pitch it. His partner is out of the office this week, and he will have to see what he thinks, but he said that if he agrees, we'll do the demo and work out some sort of deal where they have to get it pitched in 6 months... i kind of zoned at that point.
I showed him some lyric sheets, and he said to record them and drop them off. So I'm going to try to do a better job, maybe get somebody else to sing, maybe even get my little home studio set up so i can be in control of the process.

Anyway, I was really encouraged, so that's what matters the most.
