You know what I hate?

I hate people who make you atrificially feel special.   Friends who act like you're the only one who understands them, or guys that look at you like you're the only one they want to understand them.  Reality turns out to be, that it's all an act they create with every person they befriend.  Its genius really.  Treat everyone like they're special and everyone likes you more.  The only flaw is that when everyone is special--no one is.  You can't have a crowd of people who are the "only ones" that "get" you.

Another thing I noticed:
People treat you with more enthusiasm when you don't see them very often.  It makes sense at first glance because once you get close, you can be taken for granted with little fear of being lost.  I'm not going to pretend I don't have the same tendencies.  However, shouldn't the people you're closer to be treated with more care and excitement?  Shouldn't the people you connect with the most be the ones you call first and give the biggest smile?  Yet comfort gets interchanged with laziness, and people we care for most get placed on the back-burner to make room for the new friends we want to seduce.

"All the lonely people, where do they all come from?"

With the way we tend relationships, its no wonder this country has so many depressed lonely people.
