She put her hands on her hips and yelled as loudly as she could (which was ear-shatteringly loud; her gongli wasn't working, but she was a naturally loud person), "HEY! RUDE MAN! ARE YOU HERE?"

On the heels of it, Cy launched himself out of the shallows and slithered up onto shore, leaning on his hands. His tail trailed back into the water, scales glittering like thousands of blue-green jewels. His eyes were completely black, without iris or pupil, and when he smiled, his teeth were as triangular and sharp as a shark's.
"Hey, mouthy bint. Volume doesn't equal confidence," he mocked her. "You're not fooling anybody."

And when he appeared from the water, she manage to stop herself from stepping back, although she'd never seen anything quite so grotesque. He might be ugly, but she wasn't the type to give up easily. "Why are you so weird looking?" she asked tauntingly, and took in the huge breath that marked the beginning of her Lion Roar technique.
She hadn't reckoned on the fact that her energy flow had been disrupted. What came from her mouth was an incredibly loud scream, but it wasn't the supersonic attack that was her trademark.
