The way it is with friends

May 28, 2004 08:34

Time inside a friendship is not measured by minutes, months, or milleniums. A friendship exists eternally. Good-byes are not the end because even if a friend never returns, the friendship will live on inside the heart.
Abraham Lincoln said, "We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic cords of memory will swell when again touched as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature."
Know this: what we have lives outside of time. And when you're ready to be friends again, I'll be here waiting.
