I'm certainly glad that the guide is right about something. It needs to be revised, I'm afraid, but I do hope it's of some use as it is.
You're the young lady Jun brought in the other night, aren't you? I don't believe we've been introduced properly... I'm Carl, and it's a pleasure to meet someone from the same world as Hiiragi and Jun. Should you need anything at all, don't hesitate to ask!
Well, I'm pleased to meet you, Uta! I certainly hope Konata didn't have anything awful to say...? Not that she would lie, of course!
One of them, yes. There seem to be a dozen or so floating about, but I don't believe any of them are quite as recent. Really, it's wonderful that it's proving helpful!
Very good! Earthquakes don't happen all that often, so you shouldn't need to worry about any further natural catastrophes interrupting you.
Oh, no... She told me you're a friar and a scientist. I can't say I know much about being either, but you must be really talented and knowledgeable! It's no wonder Hiiragi-senpai is roommates with you!
It truly is helpful! I guess it's just really long, so I took my time reading it... Eden wanted to make sure I read through it so that I don't get a lot of surprises.
That's a relief. Earthquakes are pretty common in Japan. It kinda made me think about... home...
Oh, well... she was correct on both counts, although I'm considerably better at being a scientist. Hiiragi's reasons for allowing me to share living space is, however, a mystery that remains unsolved.
That was wise advice! Frankly, most surprises here are decidedly unpleasant.
Are you homesick, then? If it's any consolation at all, most everyone returns home sooner or later. I believe the longest anyone has ever been in the City was just shy of three years.
Calm down, if you would! Really, there's no use panicking! A number of people here are attempting to discover a means of returning citizens of the City to their home worlds, and I'm certain it's only a matter of time before we're successful.
Flatmates are much simpler than pets. While you consider finding one or the other, however, try to look on the bright side of this mess, hm? The City can be dangerous, but it isn't always. Some of the curses are entertaining, even, and imagine all of the people you can meet here! It's not every day that you find yourself in some kind of bizarre transdimensional zone where countless universes intersect and nearly anything can happen.
[This would be Uta realizing she spazzed at someone she just met. At the same time, Carl is speaking in big words a 14-year-old would fail to comprehend.]
Really? How long have they been attempting to find ways to leave?
And yes~ I'm just a little concerned about it I guess? Not entirely worried, but a little homesick. I'm certain I'll get used to living here in a few days... And people have been so nice to me! Somehow, I know everything will be ok in the end!
...I have no idea. I suppose as long as people have lived in the City, although no one saw fit to document their findings and theories until recently.
That's fine. It's normal enough to be slightly concerned when you've just entered a strange universe controlled by malevolent deities, after all! You'll settle in well enough, and Hiiragi, Jun, and I will be a door down if anything should happen.

You wrote the guide to the City? Wow, that must have taken a long time to do and research! And it's very helpful, thank you!
I'm settling in alright, but I'll keep your offer in mind!
