Law dogs

This is my distilled answer to the insane position of being against "illegal" immigration, while purportedly supporting immigration in some abstract sense. From an exchange with Ron Paul-supporting "libertarians" at UNC:

Imagine that we lived in a society where pizza delivery was largely outlawed, and as a result we had a bunch of illegal, underground pizza delivery going on.

Since delivering pizza is a peaceful activity, it would hardly make sense for libertarians to position themselves as anti-illegal pizza delivery. There would be no point in such law rationalism, since there is actually nothing wrong with delivering pizza, irrespective of its legal status. Instead, we would want to just completely legalize pizza delivery, eliminating the black market and its attendant costs and harms.

Think of drug laws. Should we come out against "illegal" pot smoking as well? Of course not! Just legalize pot.

You know where I'm going with this. Plug in immigration for pizza delivery. Just as there is nothing wrong with delivering pizza, there is nothing wrong with peaceful workers moving to America. It should be legalized, completely.
