I was quite scared before I went, but I loved it!
I saw 11 year olds having a biology class - about sexual reproduction! It was hilarious! And I saw a Yr 10 BTEC class which was a bit crazy, and a Year 12 revision class, and a Yr 8 practical class and got electrocuted! Good times lol.
My mentor is really lovely, apparently she was student of the year at Kings, but she's only just out of training - she did her NQT (probation year after PGCE), left to have a baby and now this is her first full year of teaching! So she is quite new herself. She's lovely and very good, but doesn't seem to know quite what to do with me. BUT she is absolutely lovely and really forthcoming and honest and chatty so I'm picking up a lot from her already.
I thought the boys would be intimidating but I wasn't intimidated. There are some hulks of rugby players I haven't seen yet. It's a massive rugby school - apparently on Saturdays they field sixteen teams, and this weekend they are playing Eton, and are often at a very high level apparently.
I know exactly NOTHING about rugby.
I really am going to enjoy this school though.
