I feel like such the little homemaker today. I got up and threw a load of laundry in and then I showered and got dressed, I came downstairs and worked a little on the novel and then I started to hang pictures, and straighten the office. Straightening the office turned into completely setting up the office. It looks so nice in here. I hung wedding photos in the entrance hall and then I hung our expensive Disney cells in the office. I hung a photo of my brothers and me on one wall in the office and stuck a wedding photo of my older brother and I cuddling on top of my desk. I hung the Christmas picture of the twinnies beneath the photo of me and my brothers. In my cute little Eeyore frame (the kind with the coil that sticks out of their head), I stuck a photo of Scott, Brad, Chandler, Ginger, Monica and I goofing around at the wedding. I took the big New York City portrait that lights up and hung that back above the bed where it was before. I wanted to have that pic in the office we have more Disney photos than New York ones so they came down here. (There is 0 wall space in our bedroom because of our massive furniture!)
I love having pictures up! It's really starting to make this place feel like home!! I just have a few more to find spots for. Scott doesn't really want to hang photos so all my blue and gray wolf portraits are in the closet. He wants the house to stay almost bare. I don't like bare. Bare reminds me of hospitals!
I am just looking around at this awesome room. I need to get a frame for my Dispatch Certification so I can hang it up. My stepmom made this matted frame for my Dad and in it is a picture of me when I was three saluting the camera and on the side of it is our local TV guide which has me on the cover, saluting the judges as Drum Major of the high school marching band. It's an accomplishment for me. I was on the cover of the TV Guide! I have several other awards I have always wanted to have hung up but Scott scoffs at it. He doesn't understand that his room back at his parents house stayed the same. They kept all of his awards.
I had to take mine with me.
Sure, if my parents were alive they would have gladly held onto them for me. But they are not and my stepdad and stepmom don't have the room to have boxes of things that belong to me lying around! It's not that they don't love me or that they aren't proud of my accomplishments, it's that they don't have room! So I have boxes of plaques and awards in frames that are sitting in the hall closet, taking up way too much space.
Oh well. At least I can put up the wedding photos. They need to be on display! This is our house and we bought it together. I just had an idea. On top of our TV is two photos of Scott and I when we were just starting out. I'm all thin and cute and he looks just amazing. I have this double frame that is empty. I can take those photos and stick them in the frame and hang it up! PERFECT!
I should go do that right now!
Oh this is so much fun!
