The Scientific Laws of Magic

Oct 09, 2010 13:13

I've argued for a long time that magic and science could be one and the same, but the very simple fact that proves this only just occurred to me.

The definition of science is a means by which to understand the universe.
Anything that exists in the universe can be studied and explained under the terms of science. What throws people off of this idea is that scientific knowledge is not complete. We act like all the great discoveries were made in the past, by Newton and Edison and the ancient Greek scholars and so on, and people tend to forget that we still know less than half about how the universe functions or what it encompasses.

Magic has been long considered something unexplainable, and this also encourages the mindset that magic and science are mutually exclusive, but by the very definition and cause of science, this is not so. The only reason we can't explain with certainty how magic works under the laws of science is because we have not yet fully discovered those laws. As long as science continues to progress and develop, there will come a day when "magic" can be clearly explained by "science".

with science!
