Ahh, I love basking in the glory of the limelight! LoL!
So yesterday and today was our Red Ribbon Tour for Choraliers. And I'm exhausted! But it was soo.....much fun!
Caledonia (my alma matter) was our first show yesterday morning. It was cool to see all of my old teachers. I think a lot of them were surprised to see me performing like that. I was always the shy bookworm in elementary school...now I'm the shy performing bookworm! ha ha!
The kids are so adorable. We met them and high 5'ed them when they came in. Some of them would act like they were too cool to give us high 5's, but then when the show was done they would be really pumped and give us 5's. And some of those kids slap really hard!!! I kept having to switch hands because my hands would be so red! It's like they have a contest to see who can hit us the hardest.
But through the pain it's still fun and worth it...much better than being in school! LoL! I hope we made an impact on some of the kids. They looked like they really enjoyed the shows, so hopefully they took a message away with them.
Oh yeah, cute story. So at the end of every show all the Choraliers say our name, what year we are in school, and what elementary school we went to. So when we're at Meehan this morning and this one little boy is just waving at all of us like crazy while we're performing. When we're done with the show and the kids are all leaving, the boy comes up to Tracey and I and is like, "I'm David, I go to school here at Meehan, and I'm in 3rd grade." It was so adorable! He was doing exactly what we did at the end of the show! So cute.
And we all felt like such celebrities. For our opening number, we go out into the crowd and give 5's. The kids are just so excited to touch our hands...ahh.....fame! I love it! :p
