(no subject)
so i finally got to go out on a call! i was pretty psyched about that. i got to do some basics. i took ther ladies vitals, helped carry her down a flight of stairs on a stair chair. (my first time using thast outside of class!!) and addministered o2. i was definatly nervous as hell just because it was my first time. i blanked out on one of the vital signs because i took all 3 at once and then didnt tell anyone right away. next time im writting it on my hand lol. no joke. im so happy im with the crew on sunday night because they really are amazing at what they do. they were even able to joke around with the family in an approppriate mannor and make them smile considering what was going on at the time. i can really learn a lot from them! i also have a real uniform from govac now so i dont have to wear my makeshift one anymore.
umm i stayed off of my knee for an entire week because the pain when i go running became too much, and its back. i went running today and OF COURSE mid run there was that nagging knee pain. i tried reserching it alittle online and i think i have whats called "runners knee" its an overuse injury. im going to have to stop running and this is definatly not the time for that at all. i need to prepair for the jan academy just incase i do get it but if i get in with this knee pain i dont think i will be able to do it :-/ so im going to ice it, take advil and stay the hell off of it because i want it to be at 100% for january. and as for my fire department status im still waiting to hear. the tentative date for the academy is jan 09. my next step is a mile and a half run(yeah i know...running). i keep tabs on this messageboard of people who are trying to get into the same class and from what they say it sounds like we are going to get a letter for the run in mid november and the actualy run will be in december. and if i you pass that you are in!
