I roll out of bed. Right onto the floor.
"What was that?" my brother yells from the next room, like we're miles away and not just 10 feet.
I groan. "just me."

I reach up and hit the snooze button on my alarm clock.
Another day. I love middle school.
I grab a granola bar from the stash in my dresser drawer and chew on it as I walk across the hall to the bathroom. What to do with my hair? Yesterday I did a high ponytail, and I had thought about doing two low ponytails. I decided I'd leave it down. It was actually curling sorta prettily, and why mess with it?
I walked out of the bathroom and down the stairs. As I dropped two poptarts into the toaster, I planned my day ahead. Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Exploratory, Lunch with friends , p.e...
crap. I had p.e. today. I did have to pull my hair up. Ugh. I went with an classic 50's side pony.
I slid into the seat next to Rachel and Steph. "Cute hair," they said at the same time.
"You would not believe how many people have said that to me today. Even the science teacher did!" I told them.
"Hey, guess what happened?"
"what?" we all gushed, leaning in towards Nicole. She was the schools main gossip spout.
"Sammi asked out Louie!"
"no!" we screamed. Louie was clearly Olivia's territory.
