Big vs. Small

*sigh*

yendi's an introvert, and I'm an extrovert, and therein lies the problem.

We've been fiddling with wedding plans. He originally wanted to limit the guest list to 25 people - until I gently reminded him that our immediate family consists of 24. So that was upped to 50.

Our original plan was to have a backyard wedding, if we got the house we were looking at. We didn't, so now we have to find a location. I refuse to have a hotel wedding; I did once before, and it sucked ass. It also sucked ass that I was surrounded not by my friends, but by my mother's friends.

This time, I want a wedding for me; I want a big party with all of my friends. I want morenasangre to meet sibylla, I want tsarinanic to meet vidicon, I want all of my friends. 25 friends is just not enough. There are so many people that are really important to us.

And if we get a site where we can pay a flat fee instead of a per-head, I really want this. I mean really, the only change will be amount of food, but albumlady cooks for a small army anyway.

But yendi's an introvert. And it's his wedding too.

So we're looking at compromise; we're looking at neither of us having the wedding we really want. And I hate that, for him and for me.

The original idea was to have a small formal wedding, then a big party the following weekend - but why not just have the party then and there, if there's going to be a big party anyway?

I dunno. This needs serious thought.
