JaeJoong stood in the darkness and blinked desperately with his eyes. Where was he? And where was ChangMin? And why was everything so dark? JaeJoong heard a familiar voice calling from far away. Slowly, he walked towards the sound and the voice became clearer and louder the closer he got. He heard his own voice! But how? “ it’s time to end this …” JaeJoong opened his eyes wide and looked around wildly. What was happening?
He saw a dot of light up ahead and ran as fast as he could towards it. Halting when he got at the light he could see what was happening and he gasped in shock. He was standing with a knife in his hands above ChangMin! JaeJoong saw the feared look in his lover’s eyes. It was a look of pure fright and he wanted to call him that he shouldn’t be scared, that everything was going to be okay…. But his mouth didn’t function. Instead he heard himself laughing. JaeJoong felt how his hand wrapped tightly around the knife and slashed down , towards ChangMin’s heart. JaeJoong shouted as loudly as he could “NOOOO!” And he thought with his own body. He didn’t know what was happening but it had to stop. ChangMin could not get hurt!
ChangMin lay on the ground and heard Agma’s laugh as he raised the knife. He closed his eyes tightly, not wanting to see the knife slashing towards him. He hoped it would be over quickly and with not much pain…. But the pain never came. ChangMin opened his eyes carefully and looked up. Agma stood with an angry look in his red eyes above him. Staring as his hand was shaking. Again and again he tried to bring the knife down but something was preventing it. After a couple of moments his body began to shake too. “Jae?” ChangMin asked hopeful and continued to stare at Agma’s eyes in the hope to find JaeJoong.
And yes, even for a split second Agma’s face contorted as if he wanted to answer but simply couldn’t. ChangMin was sure know. JaeJoong was alive and was still somewhere in there. And he fought! ChangMin decided that JaeJoong shouldn’t fight this on his own and quickly got up on his feet. He grabbed Agma around the middle and slammed him against the wall. The knife fell on the ground and ChangMin kicked it under the table before pressing Agma further in to the wall with all his strength. “Jae! Fight! You are stronger!” He shouted and shook Agma back and forth.
JaeJoong heard ChangMin, he believed in him! He was stronger! JaeJoong didn’t get what was in his body but he knew he was possessed. He believed ChangMin, not because he loved him dearly and therefore trusted him but also because he simply refused to give up! Yes, he and ChangMin would die someday, but that wasn’t going to be today and not by this thing! JaeJoong shouted as he lay on the ground, he shouted as loudly as he could so that ChangMin had to hear him. JaeJoong heard his own voice, his own scream! He was starting to get control again!
He felt how ChangMin sat on him and his arms were pressed against his back with a strong grip. He shouted again and felt an immense pain in his head. ”Die! You pathetic mortals belong to me! JaeJoong heard how his voice was speaking without his control and the pain in his head got worse. It felt like needles were poking him in his head. He started to shake and to shock as his body reacted to the pain.
ChangMin had JaeJoong still pressed on the ground and watched in horror how JaeJoong started to shock and shake. Agma screamed for a moment and he was obviously facing JaeJoong more than ChangMin at the moment. He fought! ChangMin ignored Agma and didn’t think about any dangers and looked directly in to his eyes. “Jae! I love you! Fight!” and he pressed his lips against JaeJoong . ChangMin felt how the body under him started to trash more violently but he didn’t like go. He stroked with his fingers through JaeJoong’s hair during the kiss and held his loved one close. ChangMin broke the kiss and brought his lips to JaeJoong’s ear to whisper softly. “Agma, you let JaeJoong go, you can’t separate us!”
Agma felt how he was losing the battle and it made him furious! Rarely he had come across humans who were able to resist him! In thousands of years he had seen only four people had beaten him… and now, now these tiny worthless people were fighting him! Agma knew he couldn’t stay in this body for too long, not if it was a body that didn’t obey! Agma shut off his senses and searched for a new body that he could possess. First he looked at the human that was pressing him against the floor. Shim ChangMin… Agma noticed soon that this human was just as strong as his partner, JaeJoong. He tried again, he tried to get in but was cut off by an invisible barrier. Agma decided not to lose his precious time at these worthless people, not if he wanted to break more human souls. And yes… he had found a willing victim…
ChangMin held JaeJoong tightly in his arms and felt how his body started to relax and eventually went limp. ChangMin didn’t trust the situation, maybe it was another trick from Agma! He decided to wait and held JaeJoong in his arms until he opened his eyes. ChangMin would know when JaeJoong was back, he knew his love everywhere, he just had to look at his eyes. Ten minutes passed by and all the time JaeJoong lay quietly in ChangMin’s arms. His breath started to became normally and his body seemed to be in a deep rest. ChangMin felt he was becoming inpatient and the silence was making him nervous. He kept staring fixedly at JaeJoong and saw a movement! He had moved his hand! ChangMin looked and saw that JaeJoong moved yet again and later opened his eyes.
ChangMin could cry, so happy was he when he saw he saw his old trusted JaeJoong and not those mean red eyes from Agma! “Jae… your back…” ChangMin couldn’t hold back and hugged him tightly. Tears streamed over his cheeks and blurred his vision. JaeJoong himself felt weak and couldn’t move a muscle and hanged limp in ChangMin’s arms. He remembered only the last few minutes, when he fought with the monster which he still did not know what it was or where it came from. JaeJoong didn’t know what he had done and how ChangMin got so beaten up. His wrists hurt and were still bleeding. His eyes stung and his voice was hoarse.
“Minnie?” He asked with a hoarse voice and burried his head in ChangMin’s arms. ChangMin stood up wavering a bit and helped JaeJoong in a chair. He sat on his knees in front of JaeJoong and looked at him with multiple emotions. “What have I done?”JaeJoong asked softly and looked at ChangMin. ChangMin bit his lip and thought for the best answer. “Do you remember?” he asked suddenly. This time it was JaeJoong’s turn to look difficult. “I …I remember that I tried to stab you with a knife… or rather, my body wanted to, I couldn’t do anything… As if I was trapped in my own body!”
ChangMin nodded, he had gotten the answer he expected and he was relieved that JaeJoong couldn’t remember what happened before that. “What happened to my wrists?” he asked and looked at his painful wrists. ChangMin followed JaeJoong’s look and jumped up quickly to grab the iodine and bandages from the medicine cabinet and treated his wounds. “I…” he began and doubted if he should tell more… “Jae.. you were possessed by a kind of devil, he called himself Agma and he tried to kill me first…” He didn’t speak furth, JaeJoong’s face became white. After a minute of silence and treating the wounds, he spoke again. “I tied you to the bed and called someone to help…” ChangMin froze and looked with wide open eyes at JaeJoong. “What’s wrong?” he asked and came upright to look around. “That woman I called, Hyun… she is still upstairs, I don’t know if she is alright! “Let’s look!” JaeJoong called in anxiously and together they ran up the stairs.
Hyun lay on the ground but luckily she was still breathing. She had a nasty bump on her forehead and with what she was hit was unclear, nothing lay on the ground near her body. JaeJoong fell on his knees next to ChangMin and shook the woman awake. “Miss?!” Hyun moaned and felt her head before her eyes opened up wide. She looked at JaeJoong and shrank back in shock. “Easy, he’s himself again!” Said ChangMin alarmed that Hyun would do something to JaeJoong. Hyun stepped suspiciously towards JaeJoong and studied him carefully. JaeJoong looked back uncomfortably , the fact that this woman had lay on the ground and was looking so anxiously at him gave him shivers.
JaeJoong looked around and saw stuff laying around the room. A rosary, an empty bottle , a cross and a bible. To the bed hang handcuffs , and to be precise , the handcuffs he and ChangMin bought a couple of years ago…. The handcuffs were now broken and bend. He saw how the metal was covered in a red colour and knew it was his blood. He swallowed nervously as Hyun still stared at him. “Hyun, why don’t you come downstairs, to recover…” ChangMin began but Hyun shook her head violently. “I… I think I better go…” she whispered and just as she was leaving the room JaeJoong called her back. “Wait! You forgot your stuff” He picked up the rosary, bible, cross and the empty bottle of holy water and stepped towards her to give it. To his big surprise, Hyun took a step back , away from JaeJoong. JaeJoong exchanged looks with ChangMin when Hyun went down the stairs. ChangMin and JaeJoong walked behind her quickly and ChangMin tried again to help her. “At least let me see the wound on your head, what if you get an accident on the road?” Hyun shook her head again and walked towards the front door. “Eh.. what do I owe you for your help?” ChangMin asked slowly until it got to him that she didn’t want any help from him or JaeJoong. Hyun turned around slowly and smiled at them. “Nothing, it looked like you didn’t needed my help after all.” She opened the door and walked outside but ChangMin stood still. Hyun was acting different than from a few hours ago, the differences weren’t major but he saw them…
JaeJoong wanted to walk behind Hyun to say goodbye and to thank her but was hold back by ChangMin. He slammed the door behind Hyun and dragged JaeJoong to the living room. In front of the window they looked how Hyun got in to her car and looked in her rearview mirror towards the living room. Her eyes glistened red and an evil grin could be seen. ChangMin and JaeJoong jumped back with a loud cry and shut the curtains shut.
