Never has setting foot in snowy Syracuse felt so good. After a missed flight (due to pure stupidity on my part), a stand-by flight to Chicago, and a 15 hour train ride from Chicago to Syracuse, I arrived just over 24 hours after I'd started. Like I said, I have never been so glad to be home.
I was welcomed just over an hour later by a fantastic bridal shower hosted by Amanda and Tiffany. The food was amazing, the house looked great, and I truly was blessed by everyone there and the gifts they were so generous in giving me. And then I got to hang out with Manders and Tiff (whom I hope to see again this week!) and eat yummy saur braten (sp?) and chat with Rick and see James and giggle about how big "Big Red" really is. A great start to my time home, for sure!
And then, I crashed (after talking with Bruce for a bit) and slept for a straight 12 hours. It felt SO good. And now I'm off to start my thank-you notes and perhaps rustle up a bite to eat.
So... here's to the 3-1-5 district and all that I love and have missed so much!
