The North Carolina food experience:
BARBECUE. So great to be in a place that makes it decently- very tender meat, in a more vinegar-tart sauce, but one that really works with the pork. Served with hushpuppies, yum!
LOCOPOPS. My friend Eileen loves this place and I quite agree. Fascinating flavors of popsicles, water or milk based. Mexican chocolate was suggested as the standby choice, and it was amazing, although the award for best dessert so far goes to Good Stuff burgers, with the butterscotch sundae.
HOMEMADE BRUNCH. Banana bread, bacon and eggs, yogurt and fresh-picked blueberries, homemade toasted bread.
SANDWICH WITH AVOCADO AND BACON. Other stuff too.
COOKIES
And the winner of bizarreness, BLACK JELLY BEANS, inexplicably stockpiled and given out for free from the Duke University Library reference desk.
