Spring arrived (again) this weekend, allowing for a beautiful afternoon walk on Sunday along the river, followed by baking cookies and eating them fresh out of the oven with ice cream.
The weekend was also marked by my friend Eric coming, allowing me to dutifully ignore work and show him around. After being too tired to do much on Friday, we ventured out on Saturday and saw the natural history museum, brunched at Angelo's, saw The Class (excellent, review forthcoming on
Thoughtlights), went to see Kiss of The Spider Woman (great performances, involving story, mostly accomplished score which includes a reference to Mahler 4 I'm the only one who noticed), and came back for a bit of dancing at the co-op party.
This week is a little less relaxing- teaching and presenting in film class tomorrow, followed by USO concert, followed by packing to go to Denver bright and early Wednesday morning. I sort of want to bake more cookies to take along with me to the conference. I feel like good relationships can be built on baked goods.
