I absolutely love this local Chicago "band." I really would love to see them Sunday. Not sure if I will, but you have to check out their funny little Halloween gig message.
are feeling the prick....
....of our thumbs, of course. It is that time of year, and our birthday approaches. We will be conjured anew by Zarek the Magnificent on Halloween night, (stay tuned for details!) and with time running out on THIS year's tricking and treating we are looking for one more wild ride in the night....won't you come along? You can ride shotgun. And if that isn't enough of an incentive to tempt you out of your apartments, bungalows, or prison cells we can also promise you the following seasonal treats:
1. Alcohol. Really, do you need to read on?
2. Brother Albie's "nephew" on bass...he's subbing for Albie while he raises a barn (and eyebrows) somewhere in Pennsylvania. Brother Aloysius is sure to need some gentle (but firm) breaking in. He's very, very young. Very. Young. And blonde.
3. NEW SONGS! No, we're not lying. And yes, we mean plural. Two is plural, right? Try saying plural 10 times fast. It gives you kissable lips.
4. The potential for havoc. Right before conjuring, we have that frantic "bees at the end of summer" energy where just about any old withered flower seems suculent enough to dip into. That's how we ended up skeet shooting with Wolf Blitzer last fall, which was unfortunate on more levels than we care to discuss. Luckily, when he finally found a pay phone and called for help, that yummy Anderson Cooper picked him up...and we taught him a whole new kind of 360. That's why he's so thin.
5. Easy pickings if you like wan, unshaven, desperate poet types.
