I had a complicated dream this morning

wherein there were aliens taking over the bodies of people in the strange town I (the broad "I" because I rarely appear in my own dreams, but as someone else - this time, a blonde girl who looked something like the character of Claire from Heros or possibly Sarah Michelle Gellar). I knew what was going on from the start, and was one of the first people to get the hint, even after several people I knew had been afflicted - computers blowing up, minor home damage, etc. Hell, they even came and body snatched one of my best friends, a nerdy boy who lived a street or so away. In actuality, it was more like a possession ala "Dreamcatcher" but minus the bacon - but he was bearable most of the time and I figured if I played alog, they would not come after me. In fact, this whole invasion was all okay with me - I'd already been called crazy once and figured that my warnings would go unheard anyway. I had one other friend (I think it was my dance partner from Ohio) who also figured it out and she was more supportsystem, so we could bitch about the havoc the aliens were imparting on the community without fear of being mocked.

At one point, I had to go to my mother's home (because apparently I did not live with her) and thd body-snatched boy came with. This was not a big deal until he decided he needed to burn the house down. Now, I wasn't about to try and stop him either, until I realized my cat was there and, by golly, he was not going to incinerate my cat. He'd already caused severe damage to other people's houses, but I was going to have to draw the line and I was in the middle of figuring out how when I woke up.

There are some other details that I remember, but my dreams and the process of recall are hardly linear in expression.

Most important: the dimensions of the dream world kept throwing me. Rarely does the spacial arrangement of a dream seem more vivid than the instances in the dream, but in this one everything was very tall, elongated, but all the houses were shoved together and the streets long but houses compact, with everything close together. I did not feel claustrophobic, but a more immediate connection to the people who lived near me because space was so tight.
