Good Boys Gone Bad!

So doing a review after sometime. Its gonna be huge. Forewarned and forearmed. :D

Vampire Diaries was interesting to say the least. I loved Damon in this episode. Well I love Damon in every episode, but this one, we actually saw him care about his brother. Of course, we expected him to rescue Stefan, but to go to Elena's to find him... so cute.

We see very little of it, but Damon, obviously has a good side, it was nice to see it without losing the essence that is Damon. They made him the worries brother and Elena’s protector; while still being badass with the lying and killing as usual. Goooo Damon!

Next up is Elena. Ugh, whats with the female characters on The CW. I hate how they are written. Most of them are brainless twits who leap before looking. Elena, obviously knows how powerful a vampire is. What is she thinking walking into a lair full of them with one measly vervaine dart?

Hmm, what else? Ah Jeremy. What up with the horrible hair? Also, I did not understand his obsession with turning, because he doesn’t seem that nutty. However, I got that perfectly, in the end, and gotta say, looking back that would be completely in character for him. The Caroline storyline seemed pointless and was obviously a plot point for bringing the Vicki story back into play. Bad idea though, because I don’t really see Damon being so sloppy.

Lets come to Stefan now. He didn’t really have much to do in most of the episode, but boy, did he look hot doing nothing. Of course, now the last shot, while kind of expected; blew me away. Of course, there would be consequences to feeding of Elena. This guy has been starving for over a century (?) Did you think he’s be happy with just one small taste? NO! Although, Damon’s expression… PRICELESS!

And finally Matt. I wub Matt. He’s this awesomely nice guy you wanna take home to your mom and have babies with. And he’s such a cutie! Anyway, coming to the point, I like Caroline and it was sad to see her hurt but what did you expect? While Caroline is his girlfriend and he does care for her, he has loved Elena for a really long time. They have history and they’ve been best friends since they were born, literally speaking. Plus she just recently lost her family. She gets him like no one else, so it’s understandable for him to lean on her instead of his girlfriend. A girlfriend who has just started seeing; who was the bearer of the bad news and who until recently, used to ignore/look-down-upon him.

Anyway, this whole episode makes for interesting episode next week. I can’t wait to watch what happens with Stefan, Damon, Matt and Jeremy. Bring it on!

First thought… last week was better. The best thing about this one was Castiel. He was hilarious and awesome throughout the episode. Drunk and cracking jokes! Dean has rubbed off on him.

Speaking off, you can see how much Dean has evolved. And it makes sense. He blames himself for The Apocalypse. If he hadn’t broken the first seal, if he had taken better care of Sam, this wouldn’t have happened. He finds a way to make everything his fault. That’s who he is. It might have been thrust upon him at first, but Dean likes being the responsible one. The one who takes care of everyone and everything. And now, he thinks the only way to do that is by saying yes to Michael.

Anyway, more about the episode first. I believed Leah was for real. From what we’ve seen, it’s exactly the kind of crap the Angels would pull. What I didn’t understand was how is Heaven’s true servant decided upon. We have Castiel, he’s a rebel angel, but he’s working for God, Heaven’s true master, isn’t he? So wouldn’t he still be a true servant? Then there’s Sam, who’s a believer and did everything under that belief. Of course, he did go too far with drinking demon blood-power trip, so it would be understandable. But Dean? He’s the least likely option. He didn’t believe in God Almighty, (and he was right), thinks poorly of Angels, served time in Hell torturing people and has most definitely committed all the deadly sins. So he becomes a true servant just through being Michael’s vessel? Just maybe thinking yes inside his head redeems him of all his sins? I don’t think so. Poor writing, guys.

There were people who had issues with Dean going to Lisa. While that scene did seem disjointed, it didn’t seem wrong. Okay, so earlier, Dean’s normal life would have been with Cassie or Carmen, whilst Lisa was just hot sex, but that changed when he met Ben. Lisa’s pull on Dean is basically Ben. He really wanted that kid to be his. And Ben comes with Lisa. Besides we saw him dream about her in Dream a Little Dream of Me, so why the surprise?

alethialia  on my f-list made some excellent points about Jane and The Whore of Babylon, and generally the female characters on the show have been potrayed as the bad ones; the sinners. And since I completely agree, I won’t go into it.

Now, let’s get what annoys me the most. Fandom backlash! I expected it and I get it. But I wanna tell the Sam girls that if he gets to make mistakes, so does Dean. But surprisingly that isn’t what is bothering me the most. It’s the Dean girls! Yeah! Even friends whose opinions I usually agree with whole-heartedly. Why are we protecting Dean? Why defend his actions? Be rational, he made a huge mistake and you know it. So stop justifying his deeds, because, he’s in the wrong this time. Last year, when Sam made the bad choices, we were all very vocal about it and got onto the throats of people who justified it. Let’s be fair, alright. Dean’s human. He has the right to make wrong choices like Sam did. So stop acting like what he did was right. It’s not and lets accept it.

Finally, onto next week’s promo. Its’ the 100th episode and its going to be huge! But I’ve only seen a couple of clips and I already have issues, namely, why can’t Dean directly talk to Michael? Why deal with the pathetic minions like Zachariah? Dean’s the vessel, and even if, according to Zach, he’s a rat of a human (or something to that effect), he’s still important to Michael and deserves more respect and better treatment, doesn’t he? Also, Lucifer was thrown into the pit because he refused to bow to the humans and looked down upon them, and it seems the other Angels and doing the exact same thing? So what makes them any different? Why aren’t they being thrown in the pit as well? Is it too much to hope that after five seasons, the writing should have improved? ::sigh:: In fact, sometimes it feels to have gone the opposite way. L
