Gossip Girl Review.
Another episode that didn't amaze me all that much. Is it me or the show is getting boring? And less scandalous.
Again, Nate was cut off from the rest. He had his own very tiny track going. Everybody had some interconnecting stories except Nate. Are they ever going to re-involve him in the actual storyline? He always is into secret relationships, his own mess, or something completely disconnected with the others. Is he even friends with them anymore? We've got everyone at NYU, Blair & Serena ditching Uni completely and him alone at Columbia. Here's hoping Serena decides to go to Columbia later instead of NYU. Also, I still don't like Bree Buckley. She looks like a duck to me for some reason.
I loved how Serena went to Chuck for help. That was like my favorite part of the show. Everytime she's in trouble, she turns to Chuck. They're very similar to two peas in a pod. But that sabotaging thing was ugh! I couldn't believe she'd do that. It was mean. I didn't buy the Carter Baizen thing. The speech in the end, too blah, considering she threatened him to leave Blair alone next season and except that episode where he's her escort, she's not even very civil to him.
Chuck looked super-cute in this episode. I think he looked very suave. Although I'd like it if he'd start behaving more like the 18 year old that he is. I'm not a Chair shipper, but they looked really sweet together today. I thought it was too OOC for Chuck to call Serena a 'trainwreck.'. Srsly! That was him, all of last season. Also him going to Rufus out of concern for her, not believable.
I loved how they played with Blair. She came across as an extremely mature teenager in high school. But she looks like an immature adult in college. Headbands? Sushi? Queen B? Its NYU, for God's sake!
Just as soon as I think Dan might not be so bad, he does something to make me hate him. Sleeping with Georgina. And he knows how insecure Blair is. I think the money and the popularity has made Dan an ass. Which is funny and ironic because the self-righteous asshole is behaving exactly like the people he used to hate.
I don't get Scott. He's weird. I don't know if its the actor or bad characterisation. It kind of sucks! Vanessa is blah! Georgina was great! She did exactly what she set out to do. She makes a good vamp. Nice to get a break from Jenny and Eric. Now only if the same happened with Rufus.
So yeah, overall, I'll give it a C.
