[At first there's nothing but the sound of someone drumming their fingers on the table. He's still rather unsure about this, it does put him in a compromising position. But when he does speak his voice is lower, more serious and it's not Sam's usual Ivonan accent, but a Vohemaro one.]
I'm looking for one Loki, [He heard it as 'Loki' not 'Low Key

That would be correct.

You're Vohemaro? I can't quite place the region, though...
[Hisoka is from Bydan, and before that, from southwest of Licere. He has an ear for accents.]

Trewe, considering the number of people who come there from all over, it's understandable that it might be a little hard to place.

Although I'd like to know a little more aboout why you want to know. It would be my ship's affairs I'd be talking about. Who are you, exactly?

Loki's an old acquaintance of mine. Sadly, he hangs out with the wrong crowd and I find a lot of his dealings are... shall we say, unsavoury. I want to make sure he hasn't been causing too much trouble.

Sorry, I have to reboot. Back to you in seven minutes! [Breaks the connection. Uses his newfound research skills, the ones he used to dig up info on Dr. Kazutaka Muraki. Messages his father's friend in the Bydan Census Bureau, which also collects records from other Vohemaro cities and localities. Asks for a search on one Sebastian Teufel. Gets a reply.]
[Reconnects to Sam's signal] You sound very youthful for a man of eighty-six, Mr. Teufel.

I hear that a lot. Do you do this sort of thing to everyone you talk to?

[Cheerfully] So far, just you. Serenity affairs, as I said.
[Since Sam clearly isn't going to identify himself, Hisoka considers the sound of his voice. There is no sure way to tell what another person's intentions are, short of psychic contact, which Hisoka wouldn't even consider attempting under these circumstances. But he does judge that this person, although not a friend, is not an enemy, either. What the hell.]
Are you more interested in Mr. Lyesmith, or the cargo?
The cargo was a giant mechanical man, in a state of disassembly. Head in one crate, chest in another, arms and legs in others, etc. There was in addition a device that consisted of wires, cables, mana crystals, and many small metal-encased components that I couldn't identify. The wires were color-coded to match the ones inside a deep, square cavity in the cyberman's chest, with lots of little user-friendly plugs and connectors.
[They're both on the Convoy. I wonder if they will figure this out?]

[While Sam would very much prefer to be left to his own devices and not participate in anything he's doesn't have any other choice.]
I'm one to think that information on the cargo may also yield information on the man and vice versa.
That sounds... [A lot like what Prime and Bee are.] interesting. It certainly sounds like something beyond our current technology levels.

Does this type of cargo tell you anything about the man?
I was puzzled about the technology level, too. The devices I work with are mainly mechanical, but I do know basic electronics. That cyberman was way past basic, way past the telephone, way past the radio, and way past the journal network! None of those things try to activate themselves before a human being has flipped the switch.

Possibly, it might yield information on the type of people he was hanging around which could lead to something.
It activated by itself? [Very intriguing and sounds a lot like a rip off of the captain and Bee, which means that the people Low Key has been associating with is most likely related to the bodynapping.]

It tried to activate. One of its arms was twitching around while it was still in its crate. And then, the head started bleating, "DESTROY, DESTROY, DESTROY!!"
Reply
[Primitive. It sounds like it was nowhere near the level of sophistication the others have.]
Sounds like it was defective.

I suppose it could have been defective. [Cough] On the other hand, the winch broke when I was loading that particular crate, the one with the head inside, and it fell on the deck. Smashed one corner, but not the whole crate. Could have jarred some connection loose, I suppose. Maybe short-circuited something.

[He doesn't think he'd get anything more out of him. Hisoka doesn't appear to be familiar with Loki and neither does he know enough about mechanics to give him better details about the robot.]
You've been a tremendous help, thank you.
