Sir, apologies for the abrupt communication, but I feel that something is not right. Was the Gloriosa by any chance docked in Antrim during Long Night? I saw the article in the Bellcius Herald. Are you now in Erealia?
But leaving phantoms in the mist aside, I was worried about that statement to the reporter - why would you have to give a reassurance that the Ivonian officers and crew are being well-treated?
I've got a little more information on Muraki, from two conversations with him. My father was a witness to a part of the first one. Unfortunately, there were no witnesses to the second.
Long story. There's a place in the woods, northwest of town, where there was an explosion eight years ago. It left a deep crater, and caused a forest fire. I've known about that place since I was a teenager; I used to hike out that way often. But I hadn't connected it with Muraki, until my father mentioned in his last letter that back in that time, he had seen the Kocho beast, repeatedly, in the area of the crater--and that he never saw it again after the forest fire. He said that Muraki also disappeared from Bydan, at the same time. I mentioned this to you in our last communication, in the middle of October, if you remember.

I...was going to add something about Antrim. Do you remember how in our first conversation, I mentioned my first ship, the Mary Riley?

But, as I said, that's irrelevant now. Good luck in Erealia, if that's where your investigation is taking you.
