Where...where am I? This...this looks like Memento Eden, but at the same time, it isn't. I mean, isn't Barhara Palace supposed to be IN Barhara? And...what the?

From a road out of the forest, a small army rode. It appeared to be a mixture of people, for no uniformity was present. They all, however, were powerful warriors. None, though, was stronger than the leader -- a tall, handsome man with short blue hair and a sharp gaze. This man was dressed in mostly white, with black armor for his chest and his shoulders, and he rode a large, white stallion. This man led his army toward Barhara Palace, which had mysteriously appeared within Memento Eden.

What's going on here? Who are they? Wait...that man in the lead...he can't be...

...Father? Father! Over here, Father! It's me! It's Celice!

...Can he not hear me? What's going on?

As Sigurd led his army to the front gate of the palace, another man stepped out. This man was about the same height and build as Sigurd, only he was dressed in black robes and had long, red hair. He was followed by a legion of fire mages, who then fanned out to line a path for Sigurd's army.

Is that...Alvis?! No! No, I know what's going to happen here! Father! Please heed my words! You must escape from here now!

"Welcome, Sir Sigurd," Alvis said. "Welcome back to Grandbell. I have been expecting your arrival."

"Thank you, Lord Alvis," Sigurd replied. "I spoke with your subordinate, General Ida, at Velthomer. She had indicated that you had planned a reception for me here in Barhara."

"That is correct," Alvis responded.

Father, no! Don't listen to him! He's telling you naught but lies!

"In that case, I wish to seek an audience with His Majesty," Sigurd stated. "There is something of utmost importance I wish to discuss with him."

"I'm afraid that won't be necessary," Alvis replied.

"What do you mean?" Sigurd asked, a puzzled expression on his face.

Alvis extended his hand. "In the name of His Majesty King Azmur, I, Lord Alvis of Velthomer, sentence all of you to death for treason against the kingdom!"

"WHAT?!" Sigurd exclaimed.

FATHER! GET OUT OF HERE, NOW!

"What do you think you're doing?!" Sigurd demanded. "You're overstepping your authority!"

"Overstepping my authority?" Alvis replied. "Hardly. I am doing the duty asked of me as the husband of the princess of Grandbell."

"Husband? Princess?" Sigurd said, confused.

"Oh, that's right, I have yet to introduce you, don't I?" Alvis turned to two of his men. "Bring my wife out here." The two men nodded, entered the castle, and returned several minutes later with Alvis's wife...Princess Deirdre.

Mother! Mother, do something! Please!

"My beloved, this is Sigurd the Traitor," Alvis said. "He is a member of the accursed Chalphys that killed your father, Prince Kurth."

Sigurd was shocked beyond belief. "Deidre?! Deirdre, it's you! What's going on?!"

Deirdre looked at Sigurd, confused. "Pardon? How is it you know my name?"

"Deirdre! Deirdre, it's me, Sigurd! You must remember!"

"Si...gurd? ...Just...just who are you? You feel so familiar..."

"Deirdre, you have to remember! All the time we spent together--"

"ENOUGH!" Alvis barked. "Men, take her back into the palace. I would rather not scar her mind with the spectacle about to take place."

"No, please! I must stay!" Deirdre protested, but it did her no good. She was dragged reluctantly back into the palace.

"Now that that's over and done with, it's time to carry on the execution." Alvis raised his hand, ready to cast a magic spell. "Good-bye, Sigurd."

FATHER, NO!

"Alvis...YOU BASTARD!!"

Before Celice's eyes, the entire area in front of the palace became like an inferno. Meteors rained from the sky on Sigurd's army. A massive pillar of flame engulfed Sigurd himself. And Celice was helpless and left to do nothing but scream.
