As many elves I was trained for combat in many ways.
The sword was always a preferred weapon in my family line, and I do not intend to break with that tradition.
And with both my father and Glorfindel I had two fantastic and experienced fighters as instructors.
Later, when fighting became one of the most valuable things in my life, there was another choice, why I prefer a sword over all else. It makes killing more personal.
Yes, you can kill an enemy with bow and arrow, but you need to be way closer to him for true slaughter.
