So, you know how owls are nocturnal, right?
Well, the owls in Harry Potter... the ones kept as pets and used as messengers... are *they* also nocturnal? Or do you think they have to adjust to their owner's sleeping patterns?
I mean... very few wizards are going to be sending messages in the middle of the night. It would be awful if someone sent a message at 3 in the morning and when the owl arrived at it's intended destination the recipient was asleep. The poor thing would have to wait hours for them to wake up before it could go home. Damn...
