"The actual choice of December 25 for Christmas was made under the Emperor Aurelian (336 AD) because this was the date of the Winter Solstice and was the day devotees of Mithras (a Persian religion) celebrated the dies natalis solis invicti (birthday of the invincible sun)."
Christmas is just Christianity imposing its own mythological system on to a set of rituals it inherited from other religions. Think about it: Christmas Tree? Was Jesus born under a tree? Was Jesus even born in December? Don't give me crap about "Remember the reason for the season". Christmas wasn't even celebrated until nearly 400 years after Jesus was supposedly born. Thus, it is entirely possible to love Christmas and not like Christians.
