April 2009 - 112 - "I wish I had a sense of humor, but I can never think of the right thing to say until everybody's gone home." - 'My Man Godfrey'
I'm not the witty one in the group, I know it. Every circle of friends has a tendency to have people filling in particular character types. They sort of complement one another, making the whole collection feel balanced and even.
When it comes to wit...?
Eddie's the funny one. There's a whole lot of reasons his callsign ended up being "Jester", and the fact that he's had every one of us rolling on the deck, laughing our godsdamn asses off makes it perfect.
Kacey's the one you can count on for the sarcastic remarks. She's funny, but not the way Eddie is. She's the smartass, the one with just enough extra attitude to be the sharp one in the group.
No, I'm never the one who really knows what to say, or when to say it. I'm sure that if you asked the others, they'd say that I'm the responsible one, the guy you can count on to help out and to do the right thing. But when it comes to talking that doesn't involve flight plans and fleet protocol? I'm kind of at a loss.
So now that I've got something kind of important to say, I'm just really, really hoping that I do it right and that my timing isn't completely frakked.
I guess that's a go, then.
Hera Agathon, will you marry me?
