So yesterday morning, the whole Blauss crew (Mom, Dad, Yon, Me, Tim, Corey, Julie, Jamie, Nikki, Joe) donned matching yellow shirts and headed down to the Plymouth court to finalize Joe's adoption! We all piled into the courtroom (plus Nenna and my red-headed Aunt Debbie and little cousin Al) and sat down, waiting for the judge. Since it was a probate court, there was a bunch of "punkass" kids all lined up waiting for their trials and such, and they did not look too pleased with our Brady Bunch =)
The judge came in, and he was nice and pleasant, but not as cool as Nikki's judge had been. For Nikki's, the judge printed up a happy certificate on his computer, and made a big show of being official and let her bang the gavel and that was cool. But for this judge, it was just another case, so he shook Joe's hand, talked for a minute with my parents, said hello to us, and then signed the paperwork, and bam! Joe became a Blauss. Then we took a bunch of pictures and headed out
... to BICKFORDS. Mmmm had the best breakfast ever. Bacon, scrambies, and french toast. I got to sit at the table with Joe, Corey, and my cousin Al. It was very very goofy and wicked fun. Joe got a bunch of dinosaur stamps, so by the end of the meal, he was covered in red and blue dinosaurs. It was very macho, he felt.
Al, who's 10, spent the day at our house, and it made me happy since I hadn't seen him in awhile, so I quickly became his favorite cousin. He thinks I am funny. That's definitely good in my book! Heh. Older cousins are always so cool, I know =)
Oh, and then I headed to the town hall to fill out my absentee ballot for the Democratic party. Woooo, politics! It was quite fancy, and everyone there seemed to know me. Ah, small town fame. The ballot was quite large, and I picked my favorite presidential candidate, plus some state and town Democrats too. It was pretty cool.
Then we had a party in the evening, and two more of my cousins Meg and Peter came over, and so there was much pizza and cake for all. Let's see, that means that with the ten Blausses, plus Deb, Al, Meg and Peter.. yeah, 14 people. It was fun, and crazy, as you might imagine.
Then I headed back to Providence, and all the kids tackled me to try to prevent me from leaving. Ahh, so much love. Heh.
So now I am back in Providence for the long weekend. I plan to sleep. A lot. And I still think someone should give me a BADAMASSAGE.
So congratulations to Joseph Patrick Blauss, red head extraordinaire, and my favorite underwear dude and best littlest bro around!
