Saw Star Wars yesterday with Lori. I must say, I was mighty impressed by it. The fact that Wedge is in it is AWESOME, and I dont know about the rest of you, but Yoda is just so cute. I want a Yoda. A real one. Who'll speak all backwards with me. That'd be the bomb.
My second-cousin John got married on Saturday afternoon. I showed up with about 10 minutes left in the ceremony that both my parents were taking part in. Woops! He was left 20 years ago, about a week before the wedding, by his first fiance, so this was like his second go round at the whole thing. Right before the end of the wedding, his wife's mother got up and like, started talking to her daughter, and all I could think of was "Oh balls, not again, she's going to ruin it all again" Hahaha, luckly that didnt happen.
Know what pisses me off? (I know what you're thinking...and NO, it's not any certain minority group this time) People that try to act like they're all high and mighty, incredibly important, and like they're owed the world. Well fuck you. If it was up to me, I'd just go Wolvie-Bezerker style on all of you and leave a trail of bodies in my path that would make Jason Vorhees proud. Fuckers.
Every time I hear "May the Force be with you", its like pre-progammed in my mind to respond "And also with you." You know, like in Church. "May the Lord be with you" "And also with you" "Lift up your hearts" "Lift them up to the Lord". Damn you BC High liturgies!!!
Also, why is it that at MY graduation we had Menino as our guest speaker, but this year, they had the short bald chief of police from CSI?! He's a '67 I guess, but still...christ. We were the first class of the new millenium...throw us a freakin bone here people.
Kicked it with my family at the reception after the wedding. There's no faster way to get 80 Greeks drunk then by announcing in a thick greek accent "Theeee baaaarrrrrr weelllll bee opeeeennnn foooooorrrrr theeee next 'ourrrr." Everyone was wasted at the wedding. I'm talking from the bride and groom, to the guest, down to the Priest that delivered the opening prayer. Highlights include having to be sociable with my new brother-in-law, Joe Smoley (yeah, he's married to my sister Sophia. Sophia Smoley. Christ.) Hanging with my cousins Cristina and Yanni, and their boyfriend/girlfriend Jim and Abbie. Good times there. Smokin Cuban cigars with Yanni and Jim while apparently there was a scene going on at the reception. Having to deal with my drunken Godmother. All in all, a usual gathering of my family. Drunken shennagins abound. Although I didnt sleep with anyone this time, so that's a plus.
When Chewbacca first appeared on the screen at the movie, I let loose with my best Wookie noise, which got a good reaction from the crowd, and I was shocked Lori didnt attack me or disapear afterwards.
The Fantastic 4 trailer played before the movie. Initial feelings from a comic geek? I think they NAILED the Johnny Storm part. He's cocky just like the torch is...and he's all about the ladies, a total playboy, just like the Torch. But that's about it. Now, this is only the first look at the trailer...but it dosent seem like they got the characters down right. Jessica Alba as Sue Storm? That's a bit of a stretch. And speaking of stretches, the Mr. Fantastic character just didnt do it for me from the few moments on the trailer. I'm still going to see the movie, if only because both Jessica Alba and Maria Menounous are in it. Time will tell on that one.
Have the Christen the boy on Saturday, then off to a wedding with Lori (attempting to fill the vacant shoes left by one Dommer), then work on sunday, and hopefully some rest inbetween. Keep your fingers crossed kiddies.
