No more kitty eyes :'( ...and circus
I just found out that Ciba Vision has discontinued their Wild Eyes contact lenses, as of last week.
According to the reseller I was ordering them through, they had some regulatory problems at the one factory that was making them, and unable to get it sorted out in over 6 months (I had placed an order back in November), they made the choice to just stop production altogether.
Now, these aren't the only costume fashion contacts out there... But they were [edit: some of] the only corrective, prescription fashion contacts out there. It was kind of nice to be able to have cat eyes and not have to hide them behind my glasses at the same time.

In the interest of not posting a total downer: This PSY show is a completely amazing acrobatic spectacular in three dimensions, upon multiple levels of staging and moving see-saw staircases, telling the story of multiple vignettes (the therapist's waiting room, the restless couple at night, the lonely man in the park), each with their own emotional chaos and gravitas played out in flowing frenetic motion of bodies and objects -- with trip-hop musical accompaniment.
Kind of like the Cirque du Soleil, but smaller, more hip, and less pretentious. :)
It's back in Boston this July: calendar.
