Melrose Humane Society Needs Help

More kitties in need! ;_; I just got a call from the woman who runs the foster home for cats for the local humane society -- from whom I recently adopted my loving Oliver and shy but good natured Walter. Apparently she's moving and can't take all the cats with her, so there are a lot of adoptable cats who need to find homes quickly. If you live in the Boston area and could take in a fuzzy feline friend of your own, please take a look at the adoption roster at the Melrose humane society. Or better yet, call the number listed on that page since there are other cats available who don't have a profile yet. A lot of these are cats who were rescued from the streets and have nowhere else to go. Even if you already have a cat or two, please consider opening your home to another kitty in need -- having a playmate to socialize with and from whom to learn positive human social interaction traits has been doing wonders for Walter -- with Oliver's company he went from being a skittish unapproachable stray to a much friendlier and seemingly happier cat who will lounge on the couch, play wrestle, purr and chirrup, and even take gentle petting.

The cats who are available for adoption will need to be indoor cats, but other than that they just generally need a warm, safe haven. Some are feral strays, but some are still young cats who are just shy, and with time and positive example will come around to being more sociable with people. As an added incentive, the Humane Society will cover the cost of their first year of vaccinations and make an additional contribution toward next year's vaccinations. Please consider helping these kitties in need if at all you can.
