So I'm mentoring someone. It's weird (well, no, wrong word but I can't think of a differen't one) because I already act like this with people but now it's to a full extent. Aka:
Don't do this because it upsets you.
If you're depressed I want you to stop and ____ and if you can't focus you're to clean ____ meticulously and then take a picture and send it to me.
If I find you doing this again I'm going to be dissapointed.
And, from what I can tell: It's going well.
I'm going to have him start keeping an email journal for me.
It feels good. It's time consuming as fuck: but it's good to know it's helping him, even if it's slowly.
I have a filter specifically for him on my gmail now. It stars all of his emails to me, labels them under his name, and then places them in a folder so I can keep them better organized.
This is proof mentoring can be completely nonsexual, and that gives me hope for myself with others.
