Looked at an amazing cottage/cabin out in the woods just outside Charlottesville yesturday. I'm hoping we get it, it would make life perfectly fucking wonderful.
Everyone that's willing to send good energy in the direction of us getting this little cabin, I'd appreciate it.
To sum up the weekend (and I can't), Ian drove us to Richmond, VA from NYC on Thursday. Got in saw our wolfiepuppy J, got food and wandered together, watched a movie at their place and then crashed asleep.
J had to head out for work stuff early, and we went out to an Island (unsure of the name) and hiked along/on the river where the water was low enough for a few hours. Met a very grouchy box turtle and three (I think corn or king) snakes. The first one caught us by surprise (and vice versa), as we were sitting with our feet in this fast moving stream and he went to swim right over them. We pulled back and get jumped in the fucking air and then sat there and went >:| at us for a few minutes until we wandered off.
Being a stupid dog and all, I really wanted to pick him up and look him over. You know, give him the 'sniff test'
Ian however wasn't hearing it :3
Wandered around in Richmond for a few minutes and got some books (like an essay of research on how hypercompetitiveness/vs eating disorders, especially in women due to cultural facotrs of Western society) for fucking cheap, and then met up with J and talked about things. Headed out after a bit, got caught in a gorgeous thunderstorm in the car, and slept at the rest stop.
Next morning we checked out the cabin. Halfway up the mountain road (following the owner), a dog wandered infront of the car and didn't feel like moving out of the way. So I got out and got him to follow me (he was an aussie/cattle dog mix of some sort), but if I tried to get back into the car he got in the way again.
So I told daddy to just drive on ahead, and then I hiked on up afterwards with the pooch either beside me or behind me nearly the whole way. He wasn't a mean dog at all, just an old man protecting his space. He dissapeared (literally) when I passed the house be belonged to (the only other house on that road until you reach the top).
Hiked up, saw this wonderful cabin, fell in love, said we wanted it. The owner had a few other showings he promised to do, but I'm hopeful :3
We wandered around Charlottesville afterward (which I love) and then headed back to NY.
Coming back to the city after being out there is..
I'll just say I'll be very happy to move.
Very.
moving day
