Rules of the house:
*Don´t put your dirty feet on the couch.
*Don´t eat/drink anything without asking if the other people in the house want some.
*Clean the house every day.
*Make your bed.
*Cut your meat right.
I am learning that I actually like cleaning the apartment. Blast the techno music, open the doors to the patio, and use the mop end as a microphone. It´s quite enjoyable, really.
Three weeks and two days now. The culture shock hit hard last week, but I think I am through the worst of it. I understand almost everything that my family says and I am reading Harry Potter and the Prisonero de Azkaban, in Spanish, of course. Tommorrow I am going to register for some private Spanish courses. I have also signed up for a class of painting and joined a gym. School is as easy as ever, and actually interesting, especially Philosophy.
I guess once you go abroad, you want to do it again, because I am already planning on doing something in South/Central America after my senior year. Working on a horse ranch in Peru? Setting up an animal shelter in Guatamala? Volunteering with kids at an Ecuadorian orphanage? There is so much I want to do.
Also, I believe I have found the school I want to go to, Tufts University in Boston, because they have an International Veterinary program, exactly what I want to do with my life. I can´t wait for the rest of my life to start. So much to do...
Oh, and if anybody asks, I am eighteen years old now, so that I can go home during recreo(lunch break). Thank you, international student I.D., for not having my birthdate on you. Boring update, yes, but the good news is that I am doing better.
